Straining to See Answers in an Ellipsis

I had planned to write a common sense view of the second presidential debate today.

Unfortunately, it seems pointless to rehash an embarrassing evening that bore little relevance to the actual issues hanging in the air at the current moment.

Whether either candidate told the truth seems to matter little. Whether one performed better than the other seems to matter little. Whether either sounded competent seems to matter little. To analyze assertions made or insults hurled is to gratify a colossal waste of our time and best intentions.

Each side will claim its win and criticize the other.

Some things are better left for what they are.

Yesterday was an ellipsis.
