True story relayed to me today:
Someone was hiring for a sales role and had several candidates.
Among them was a 20-something male who neither followed up nor sent a thank you note after the interview.
In a competitive process – that wasn’t going to fly for a role that depends upon great relationship-building skills.
So the hiring manager chose someone else, and told the thankless 20-something it wasn’t going to happen.
Next day, his mom called the hiring manager to protest.
