The Trials of a Board President

I knew there would be a few days like this. Just didn’t think it would take until Day 23 in my temporarily-elevatorless building.

On the fifth floor the stairwell door popped open and in came a board member I had chewed out at the board meeting last week (yes, that’s rare and is memorable when it happens).

We exchanged greetings and the board member sullenly walked three steps ahead of me in silence for the full five flights to the lobby.

I wished him a good day to which he mumbled something unintelligible in response.

We went our separate ways.
