Seriously. Who Blames their Customer for Not Liking a Product?

You all might not see this as much as I do, but lately there have been 42 crillion thought pieces on media literacy, passionate pleas for more training of news consumers and new media literacy programs popping up all over the place.

I’m getting weary of this outcry. Don’t get me wrong, media literacy is important, but this hair-on-fire explosion of media literacy programs seems to suggest an undercurrent that the consumer is to blame for lack of trust & understanding.

What other industry blames its customers for failing to understand its product?
